Hello, my name is Ella.

I have been drawing and printing baby and children's clothing since 2009. 

From 2009 - 2018 I specialized with my brand "de buex" in growing pants that can be worn up to 2-3 sizes. I designed them with three friends, sewed them myself and printed them with beautiful designs.

 

 

 

In 2018 I launched the brand "little Ruby" with the focus on the illustrations and screenprints. At little Ruby you will find baby & children's tops with hand-printed illustrations by me. The materials and colors are organic certified, which I appreciate and very important is for me.

I´m a mother, graphic designer and art therapist. Being half German/half Berber, I was born and raised in the north of Germany (Baltic Sea) and living since 22 years in Berlin.

 

 

My free-spirited North African roots and my time at the Baltic Sea are a huge inspiration for my materials and illustrations – the Berber folk love virgin wool and magical signs and symbols, and the North Germans love the sea, the waves and their salty stories.

These two cultures have, in turn, influenced my own designs, inspired by the incredible beauty of nature, which is why animals are frequent subjects. 

The illustrations are minimalist, simple and engaging to the little ones. 

The products are created with freedom, comfort and happiness in mind. The wellbeing of your babies and kids, and of our planet are my priority.

All garments are made with the best organic certified fabrics. I work fairly with each of my suppliers, paying a fair price so that they can in turn pay fair wages.

The illustrations are individually hand screen printed by myself, with eco-friendly water-based textile inks.
